HPX170 output to two monitors?

I have an onboard Nebtek and i'd like to run a picture to a client monitor as well. Is there a way to rig this up, or does the camera only output through one pipeline at a time?

Currently, I have the Nebtek hooked up via component, and tried to run a BNC from the SDI into the monitor directly, and tried to run it from the BNC output of the Nebtek into the second monitor. No dice.

Not being familiar with SDI- is it essentially a regular BNC cable, or does it have it's own special sauce ?

I'm not sure if you can run SDI and Component out simultaneously but I tested it using the Component and Composite outs and it worked fine.

Thanks Leo. That may be the plan then. I've got a shoot with it tomorrow night, so I'm getting down to the wire.

thanks again.

I have just done tests for an article. Definitely cannot output from SDI and component at the same time. Composite is always live.

That's what I figured, as well.

It'll be a tiny lil SD monitor plus SDI out for Client. =T

And what about the HVX? When sending component to a monitor there's nothing coming out of s-video or composite. Anyone have a way around this? I like to use a component HD onboard AND send a wireless video signal at the same time. I can do this with s-video only, not component.

Chris:

You would just have to use an outboard component splitter or D/A or figure out a way to use the FireWire output on the HVX. No way to make the HVX output component and composite at the same time, I have tried.

Yes, that AJA will down convert the signal from HD to a Standard definition switcher. It could also be used in line with the NEBTEK HD Monitor to go from the HD component outputs to the SD Input on the client monitor.

If your looking for a handheld wireless HD solution (rather than downconvert for SD broadcast) we have had a lot of success with the new CamWave system from IDX. My technicians have been using it in this configuration for the past 3 months (see attached), and it works great. The range is not as spectacular as IDX specs say, but for 80' to 100' it works solid. We just had a demo at the IDX booth for HD Expo and DV Expo. It definitely attracted a lot of attention at their booth.

All the Best,
Rob
