HPX170 - On Board ND Filter - How Bad?

Question - How do the on board ND filters on the HVX170 compare in picture quality to Tiffen "screw on" NDs. Or any other "screw on" ND

How bad are they.....

Since you have the camera, why don't you just take a few minutes to try the onboard ND filters and see what you think?

I have tried it and they do not seem too bad.....

Unfortunately my screen/monitor is not the best and it is hard to truly tell.....

I was hoping someone might say something like.... "yeah I had to shot with the on board NDs one day and when I say the footage on the big screen I could really notice the difference".

Or visa versa.....

Any takers.....

they have always worked fine for me doing run and gun / eng stuff.

but if you are concerned about "big screen" in the first place, youre most likely going to be using a mattebox with a pack of NDs and grads anyway
