HPX170... no firewire?

i'm an hvx200 user and always offloaded my p2 cards via firewire. i received my hpx today and have noticed that there is no longer a firewire port. or, at least i can't find it. i have a usb from a nikon dslr that i hooked up to the usb port, but the p2 contents management software won't recognize the the usb when i put the camera in pc mode... what am i doing wrong, or what should i do differently? help!

youre ok, its just a different cable.

you were using a 6pin to 4pin with your hvx. now you need a 6pin to 6pin with the hpx. the connection is on the back with EVERY other connector...now id just assume that you have an extra 6pin to 6pin firewire cable lying around..?

i think panasonic cameras default to firewire. you cant just plug in a different cable and expect it to detect it. if you want to go usb you have to tell it that in the menu
