I have a used Panasonic lens for sale. This is an internal lens assembly to my HPX170 which received some water damage. It was described in the following thread http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=208727
The camcorder was inspected by K&M Electronics which is an authorized Panasonic repair facility. According to the technician the lens assembly was dried out, powered up and functioned normally. I had the lens replaced due to a dried water spot(s) inside the lens. I do not know whether it is visible on video shot by the camera. If you want to take a chance on it please contact me. I am asking $300 with payment thru Paypal. I will ship via UPS to CONUS only.
Here is some further information. The only water spot I can see is depicted in the attached photo at the 3 o’clock position. This lens came from a J-series (see your serial number) HPX so I don’t know if it will work in other series HPX’s. According to the technician this is not a DIY installation. A special “jig” from Panasonic is used for J-series and the lens focus is aligned thru a computer alignment program. The new lens assembly cost me $1435.20, $198 for installation labor and sales tax of $101.16. The invoice is available upon request.
