HPX170 joystick has some play

ok thanx guys! another question ..... there was not the big manual in the box like for my dvx or my hvx, is it the case for you? (i got it on the cd, i was just wondering if someone opened my box before and took it out of there)

but the joystick play is annoying. i really have to use my thumb to press on it. If i use my index it's sliping on one of the sides. know what i mean? it's the only thing i can complain of because i f**** love my hpx171!

I think its just a matter of getting a feel for it. The joystick felt "loosey-goosey" when I first tried it, but after half an hour it seemed quite natural to me.

I believe it's an excellent improvement over the previous controls in terms of location and execution.

HPX 170 build quality is a little less beefy than the HVX 200, but I have found nothing remotely warranting the "show-stopper" banner headlines of some of the posts floating around. So far mine's great, and I sure like the weight.

The "loose play" people feel with the joystick is actually what I prefer. I love the joystick, I can quickly go through menus and playback clips without the annoying 90 degree turned controls we are used to on the 200.

well, i love the position of the joystick. it's just the play that i don't like much. if i'm putting the cam upside down the joystick is moving without touching it. and it's going really too easily in every direction before "clicking". maybe it's just my cam.
