HPX170/HVX200 used for web cam?

Is there any way to do this? I'm doing a broadcasted online chat and would like to use my HPX as the web cam. Anybody know a way to do this? I am plugged in firewire now, the PC recognizes the camera, USTREAM's software recognizes the Panasonic Cam, but there is no video output.

I would have access to do this stream on PC or a Mac.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

HVX as Webcam

HVX as Webcam

Were you able to find a resolution to this? I am trying to do the same thing on a Mac... the system recognizes the camera but there is no video output.

What program are you using ?
What format are you outputing (i'd go 30p 720)
does your program supports hd input.

Just an FYI, to get a Firewire signal to be visible on a PC (XP SP3 anyway) you need to have the camera media type set to tape - P2 doesn't work - so nothing higher than SD rez. Also - 480i -30p seemed to work/look better than 480i-60i.

Is this option possible with the HPX170? or is it just available for HPX200?

I am also trying to set it up as a webcam, but received no video output. Any alternate ways in doing it? (Please include software and settings)

Thanks

cam twist is recognizing the my hpx170 but im not getting any video feed......im using MAC MINI via FIRE WIRE.....what should my settings be? HELP!!!!!

Works fine for me from my 170 going directly to ustream. Haven't tried CamTwist, but I have it in 720p30. Problem with ustream is that you need to pay to broadcast in HD so what it does is it does a 4:3 with the 16:9 superimposed. Still great quality. One problem I had was the audio would not work from the camera..
