HPX170 glitch

what is going on here? I have had my hpx170 since march of 2009. I use it about 4 times a week. should i send back to panasonic as a warranty issue?

Depends on how this happens. Could be a drag and drop transfer, could be a bad codec board. Could be a bad card. I guess what we need is more detail.

Specifically, did it happen on the camera in the original footage? Or only after it's been transferred to the computer? And doubly, was it to an Apple computer?

If the footage is still on the P2 card and you can play it and see that glitch from playback in the camera, then it might actually be something wrong with the camera. But I'd bet heavily that's not the case; I've never ever ever seen anything like this from in the camera. However, we have seen this a LOT from people who have transferred the footage onto an apple computer; search this forum for "glitch" to find lots of threads about it.
