Hey guys, this is kinda of a interesting one. Wasn't sure where to post this type of subject, but since it involves the HPX170 I thought I would give it a try here.

I was sent footage to edit for a memorial service. One camera that they used was the HPX170, and the other was the CanonHF20. Obviously one uses DVCPRO HD (1280x1080), and the other uses AVCHD (1440x1080). Most of the footage is shot with the HPX170, and the CanonHF20 was a B camera. They gave me the source clips to edit (3.5 hours total memorial service) and I'm trying to figure out what is the best sequence settings to use in FCP to get the job done right.

My first thought was to export both (different) timelines into Apple Pro Res 422 and then create a ProRes 422 sequence and work with both of them there, but this would require a TON of space. Would it be okay to use the DVCPRO HD timeline in FCP as the main editing timeline and import the AVCHD footage inside there? When it is finished should I export to Apple Pro Res, or just go on to the next step of compressor and then DVDSP4 for a DVD? I would like to make it into a final SD DVD but also a HD Quicktime File as well. So basically I'm just trying to find out what Sequence Settings to use and what Aspect Ratio to use as well for my editing in FCP.

One last question... When I do import the AVCHD footage into the DVCPRO HD timeline the aspect ratio comes up as 12.5, is this correct? Or should it be 0, or 33.33, or -33.33???

Thanks so much in advance :)
