HPX170 duplicating my clips when downloading

Hello,

I haven't been using my HPX170 for very long, only a few projects. However, the project I'm working on now is giving me an issue when I download the files from my cam to my iMac.

I'm looking at my clips on my cam now. I only have 5 clips, and as far as I can remember, and from checking the logical sequence of my footage on the my NLE, 5 clips is the correct amount. However, my contents folders (from 2 cards) have a total of 9 clips. Four of the five clips have been duplicated!

I copied and pasted the contents folders and the lastclip.txt onto my mac. I've read the sticky instructions on this board but the P2CMS was not able to import the clips. After a bit the progress would be halted, doesn't freeze, just stop progressing on the progress bar.

What's even fishier is that my .MXF file names on my finder are all different like they are different files, but once in Premiere the duplicated files have the same names, like they been duplicated.

Any ideas?

The clips are fine. No quality issue.

Thanks

You probably have clips which are long enough to take up more than 4 GB, so they get split into subclips. Premiere sees that and mates them all together as a single clip, under the file name of the first clip. They also appear as a single clip in the MCR clip menu in the camera.

If you look at the size of the individual MXF files, you will probably see that several of them are exactly the same size, a little over 4 GB.

You are probably right, though the file sizes vary.

I have 3 files that are 4.25 GB. The others are smaller than 4 GB.

Thanks
