HPX170 battery

[pgovotsos]

I'm sure this has been asked before, but a search wasn't too helpful. Does the HPX170 use the same battery series as the HVX200?

Thanks,
Panagiotis

Panagiotis,

Pretty sure that's affirmative. Its the same battery for all of Panasonic's prosumer line. BTW, cool name.

Is the dvx-100 apart of that prosumer line? (sorry for being ignorant, I did search around but couldn't find out if the dvx and hvx use the same batteries).

[AwakenedFilms]

Yes that is also affirmative. DVX and HVX use the same batteries.

I saved my spare HVX200 battery after determining that the battery was indeed identical on the HPX170- just oriented differently. It appears to be better protected from the potential failure points of the earlier HVX200 design.

My new HPX 170 is coming from Spec Comm with the addition of their free third party battery. I will report back about its performance. Always wary of third party batteries- leaking batteries can be such a disaster! Anyone have experience with the Spec Comm batteries?

The Spec-Comm batteries are amazing! Never had a problem.

Thanks Twisted Lincoln.

We will support them too. If you have any problems, we will replace the battery for you within it's first year.
