HPX settings

I know a lot of people set their cameras up differently... but just wondering if anyone has an easy explaination of the settings you can adjust in the HPX500 scene files... There's no place that I've been able to find that tells me what each of the settings actually adjusts... ie
Detail level
V-Detail
Detail Coring
Chroma Level
Chroma Phase
Pedestal
etc

I get what the Chroma Level and Pedestal do, mainly want to know what I'm adjusting when I'm messing with these settings to get the look I'm after.

Detail level sets the amount of detail enhancement -- kind of like a contrast control, but one which accentuates the edges of things. It's very similar to a sharpener in an NLE. V-Detail is similar, but on the vertical axis.

Detail coring is a method of reducing noise in certain image areas by lowering or limiting the edge enhancement of certain parts of the picture -- useful when using gain, because gain increases noise -- and noise is a detail which will be enhanced using Detail Level.

Chroma level is, as you probably guessed, a setting for the saturation of color.

Chroma phase is more of a tint adjuster -- you can shift the colors slightly to make certain colors a little more popping. It's a fairly mild effect.

Pedestal is a black offset, again a bit like a contrast control, but one affecting not the edge details, but the black levels.

You might benefit from the HVX Book or the HVX BootCamp DVDs -- the image settings menus are virtually identical in form and function between the 200 and the 500.
