Ok, is there a trick to getting a gear ring onto the 170? The stupid sloped focus ring design is making it impossible to get my redrock gear ring on it. If any one has any advice, I'd appreciate it. Or are there any gear rings out there that aren't as wide as the redrock ring that would work? The only way I can get it on is with the lens hood off.
