HPX and light streaks

First off sorry about the bad grab below - wasnt my doing, as I am not editor on this I just requested the grabs, its compressed badly and seems the aspect ratio has been thrown out of whack. But this shot comes from a music video I dp'd last week.

Anyway my point, director got his needed shots against a bluescreen and I suggested a couple of cut aways and got this. In the background is a 575w Arri HMI - and I was surprised at the complete lack of light streaking.

Anyone else noticing this on the HPX?

Bigger pixels = less susceptibility to streaking. I would expect the HPX500 to perform extremely well in resisting light streaking, it probably has the biggest pixels of any HD camcorder. On the converse, I would expect the HPX3000 to be more susceptible to it happening.

Although that is pretty good -- pointing straight at an HMI and having no streaking is really quite impressive.

You know it's good to see stuff like this. I have a bad habit of reading too many forum posts and with all the EX1 hype and negativity towards ye goode olde pixel shift and any sensor that isn't 1920-1080 you start to lose perspective a bit.

The pictures we're projecting from our 500 are stopping people in their tracks, literally, so we're insanely happy with it, but somehow I still get caught up in the meaningless sensor trivia and boosterism.

Sorry about that. I was quickly going through and caught what I saw as a reference to wanting to rent the camera out. I was in spam mode so just axed it without really looking.

Later,
Jason
