HPX 170 Lens Hood

Anyone else experience "stiff" lens hood removal/attachment on the HPX? The DVX 100b lens hood turns on and off very easy with little resistance but with the HPX, seems a bit stiff which makes me concerned that removing it will loosen/damage the lens mount. Has anybody experienced any problems as a result of removing his/her tight-fitting lens hood?
 
yeah. every one ive used (about 4) has been pretty tight. i wouldnt worry too much about it.
 
Thanks! I hoped to hear from a fellow with real world experience concerning this camera. I purchased mine a month ago and have not yet turned it on. I plan to do so tonight (I've been busy as hell).

On a new note, have you ever used this baby on location with a field monitor used to light/get proper exposure on your scene?
 
I've used my HVX (similar to HPX but with tape drive also) with the SmallHD 9" monitor mounted to the top...mostly for assistance with HD focusing but also helps with exposure.
