HPX 170 Framerates and Modes

New to this forum...I have an hpx170 that I would like to shoot at 1080/24p. The problem lies w/ the camera's inabilty to shoot interval rec mode at that frame rate. It will only shoot interval at 30fps stream. I need to combine 1080/24p with some time lapse stuff that the normal framerate hack can't handle. Hence the problem... Any suggestions? Thanks much.

I don't mind so much combining different resolutions, ie 720 for the time lapse and 1080 for the main footage, but different framerates are a no no,... no? Either way, it is not ideal. I'd prefer to shoot one resolution, one framerate, for both... 1080/24p. Any ideas?

34 looks and no thoughts huh? Well, after 3 hours of testing framerates, pulldown patterns, and timeline settings (in FCP), I've come to the conclusion that the only way to make this work is to use Cinema Tools reverse telecline to 23.97...works great for the occasional time lapse.

Just shoot it in 1080/30p, and then in Cinema Tools, "conform" it to 23.976. It's a time lapse, so it doesn't really matter what the stated frame rate is, it only matters what the interval between frames is, and what the playback rate is.

So use 1080/30p, and do the instantaneous "conform" process, and you'll have exactly what you wanted.
