HPX 170 Audio Channels issue

So i bought an HPX yesterday.
I took it home and started playing with the camera figuring out options etc.

I noticed that the channel 1 audio meter is not reading levels on the view finder.

Does anyone have any advice or anything to help me figure out why it isn't reading audio?

I have played with the mic switches, shut off the channel 2 and turned just channel 1 on and still nothing.

I am worried the mic is not picking up the audio on one channel which would then be an issue.

Check your level meters.
Is CH. 1 select on INT.?

Before you start playing with the switches, I hope you also read the manual.

You have the record levels raised up right, (just checking the obvious first)?

Check to see if an external mic is working with the unit through channel one. The channel one switch needs to be set on Input 1 (INT is the camera mic) for this with a mic plugged into the channel 1 XLR input. You also need a mic that does not require power otherwise you may need to turn on the +48 switch to run phantom power to the channel 1 XLR input.

If you are getting audio there, it may be the camera's internal mic has a problem.

Have you checked the Line and Mic switches on the front of the camera? Just round from the XLR inputs. They should both be on MIC.

Hope that helps.
