HP Compaq Mobile Workstation 8510w with 8GB of RAM and Adobe CS5 Master Collection and Blu Ray Burner! $800 OBO
This laptop is still under warranty until April 30, 2011. It is a 2.2 Ghz Core 2 Duo with BD RE (Blu Ray burner and reader). Everything on it works great. But see below for two minor issues. It came with Windows XP Professional but I upgraded to Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit. It also came with 4 GB of RAM but I upgraded to 8 GB of RAM and and selling it with the 8 GB installed and the extra 4 GBs you can do with what you want. It has a awesome graphics card: NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M, 256MB (512MB TurboCache). This card handles the CS5 suite without problem! I have been editing a documentary shot with AVCHD in full HD with Premiere Pro and its works great, but it is time for me to get an i7 so selling this. If this does not sell for my asking price or best offer I will just sell all the items piecemeal, but hopefully someone out there will see how great a deal this is. I will entertain reasonable offers.
Included:
8GB of RAM (two DIMMs of 4GB each, 800 Mhz). I paid about $300 for this just a few months ago.
An extra 2 DIMMS of 2GB of RAM for a total of 4GB of RAM. You can resell this or put in the machine and sell the 8GB
Windows 7 Professional Upgrade. Comes with both disks, 64 Bit and 32 Bit. A fully legal and validated copy.
Windows XP Professional OEM Disks and the Drivers Disk (you can always downgrade and sell the Windows 7 if you want)
WINDVD Pro 10 to play Blu Ray movies (paid over $100 for this)
Rosewill 2 Port eSATA PCMCIA card (Gives you two separate eSATA ports. Includes driver disk which work with Windows XP or Windows 7. I use this to connect two 7200 RPM SATA drives--not included--to edit and it works fantastic.)
Adobe CS5 Master Collection
(it is loaded but I do not have a install disk for this. It is fully legal and the license will not expire. You can also update all the programs whenever a update comes out)
Loaded Adobe CS5 Master Collection includes:
Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended
Adobe Illustrator CS5
Adobe InDesign CS5
Moca for After Effects CS5
Adobe Flash Catalyst CS5
Adobe Flash Professional CS5
Adobe Flash Builder 4
Adobe Dreamweaver CS5
Adobe Fireworks CS5
Adobe Contribute CS5
Adobe Premiere Pro CS5
Adobe After Effects CS5
Adobe Soundbooth CS5
Adobe Encore CS5
Adobe OnLocation CS5
Adobe Bridge CS5
Adobe Device Central CS5
Adobe Dynamic Link
The battery holds a charge for just a few minutes. Needs a new one. But I use this as a desktop replacement rather than a mobile so I never bought the new one.
The monitor shows some areas that the keyboard indented it. But it's totally fine and looks great. I use an external monitor via the HDMI port.
One of the four USB ports sometimes does not work.
Not included: the extra monitor in the pictures, the extra hard drives or dock, the eSata cables, any of the other cables connected to the computer in the pictures (except the AC cord).
I will send buyer proof from HP that the warranty is good through April 30, 2011. I have a pdf file with it.
More info here http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/newsroom/press_kits/2007/mobilitysummit/ds_8510w.pdf It says the laptop is maxed at 4 GB of RAM. That is not true, that only applies if you use Windows XP. With Windows 7, it recognizes the full 8GB I installed.
I am willing to sell outside of the USA. But I make no warranty or guaranty that any of the software will update or work there. I do not know this. I have no idea. Also, I have no idea if the laptop warranty is any good outside the USA. So its up to you.
I am in the Los Angeles area but willing to ship in USA for $20. Outside USA for $60. I am selling this on ebay as well. http://cgi.ebay.com/HP-Compaq-8510w...tops_Nov05&hash=item1c19a91dae#ht_1266wt_1135
