Hello,
I recently shot some video at a concert and a lot of people were taking pictures with flash cameras while i was filming. I noticed in the video that there is flash-banding. Is there a way to eliminate this on the gh1

Well i guess nobody has any answer to a fix, this makes the camera useless for wedding and events were other people have flash cameras

there is no fix that i know of unless panasonic specifically addresses it in a firmware update which will never happen. at least its not turning into mud like it used to when there was no hack.

I shot an indoor event with occasional still camera flash and saw similar effects, almost always limited to a single 60p frame. This type of disturbance can provoke breakup in some AVCHD players, so it's best to evaluate it frame by frame in an editor. The hack is not a factor with this effect, and since the camera is accurately capturing the artificial boost in illumination, there is no technical "fix" for this problem.

In a still camera flash situation, I'd recommend shooting at 60p with my 40Mbps AVCHD High Reliability Patch:

The reason for using 60p is to isolate the flash disturbances to as short a duration as possible. You can then identify each contaminated frame and individually replace it with either the preceding or following frame. A plug-in for After Effects or Final Cut that would seek out such frames and display them for you would be very useful, but I don't know if there is one.
