How would you create this look?

I like this look. How would you recreate it either during shooting or in post. I have no idea what it was shot on.

Looks like a technicolor 3-strip effect. There are plug-ins, like magic bullitt that will get you some of the way there, otherwise after effects or one of the power-house grading aps like resolve.

You need CMYK color profile for this.

Looks like high contrast/ high sat first- then low contrast applied on top of that. You could use a color key in resolve to selectivley shift colors around (sky in the begining and skin against cyan in the night shots)

It's not a question of arguing with a mod. (And if it were "suicide," there'd be hardly anyone left who hasn't argued with a mod at least once.) It's a question of good info. You can do this with saturation and contrast. They probably did more to it, but that will get you 90% there.

There isn't a CMYK profile in video, anyway. That's a print concern.

Looks to me like it was shot on 16mm Ektachrome that had been left in a hot car too long. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you.

It seems clear - the blue shadow, orange highlight curves so repeatedly used in the last digital grading decade, along with heavily lifted shadows. Thats it.

There's more to it than that. Look at the colour of the sky, it's cyan, not blue. This has definitely had cross-processing applied to give it the look of slide film.

I said there was more to it than that -- I'm sure color was manipulated some. But for the overall feel of it, it's about saturation and contrast.
