Hi, I am interested in using SAG artist for my short and was wondering what is the best way to find them. I am going to post want ad's on craigslist but was wondering if there is another way.

Alao, i always see these topics on SAG where there are lot of issues like, contracts, Insurence, daily allowenc etc.

I know that SAG rates could be from 150/day to like 1 mil/day. I am looking at the lower end of the spectrum though i could do better then 150.

Would appreciate any help.

Kris,

contact the SAG indie department from their site. You can talk to a rep that can explain what they have available.

I'm not sure on shorts, but I know when you send a script out to Breakdown Services you will be flooded with SAG contacts.

Before you go too far make sure to really dig into the SAG site and get some info worked out.

Good luck,

J.

cool. thanks. that helps. I will check out the sag site.

I am assuming indie department is sort of different from the main sag which would work for me since i am abviously looking at low budget stuff.

Cheers

You will be completely surprised about how much paper work and how many hoops you will have to jump through for even a short and I am in SAG. We did a short a couple of years ago as a SAG experimental. GEEZUS

Why not just find the best talent, and if the ones you choose happen to be SAG, then go to the trouble of dealing with it? If they don't happen to be SAG, you found the talent you wanted so it's all good anyway!
