How well does this software stabilizer work?

Looks promising and they say it will work with Vegas Movie Studio (which is what I have) as well as Vegas Pro. But - does it fuzz up the video? Does it significantly lengthen render times? Are there any problems with WIn7-64?

Hello,

There is a trial on their site for the plugin.

I tested it out on Sony Vegas and it seems to work pretty well for some shaky dollies I had. However, I tried to use it on a shaky short jib shot and have tried it with several different settings, but couldn't get it to be very smooth.

I tested it out on a WinXp machine with Vegas 9.0c 32bit, but the NewblueFX site says it works with XP or higher machines and 64bit Vegas.

To get to the trial you need to go to the VideoFX tab and down to the Stabilizer product. They have two pages for Stabilizer and one of them doesn't have the trial link on it.

Best Regards,
Andy

There are also free alternatives. This project called Deshaker is a plugin for VirtualDub and works quite well. It will even compensate for rolling shutter.

For my money, it's the best deshaker available at any price (that I have seen). It's main drawback is that it does run VERY slowly.

i've noticed it does minimal shakes pretty good. but something outrageous, it can't fix. i have all the NewBlueFX and this one is a keeper.....
