GH5 How visible in peaking with Vlog?

Hey,

I had a little try of a Gh5 this weekend, cool little machine. The screen and evf were nice and clear.

I tried peaking in cine-d with low settings and it seemed to work decent enough.

What's it like in vlog? I found with low contrast settings the gh4 wasn't very clear, gh5 seems better - but is this true for vlog?

Thanks

Peaking is even more visible in VLOG on the GH4 because it stands out more against the low contrast images. Same on the GH5, however, the GH5 also has a rec 709 viewing mode for VLOG so you can see the image with proper contrast. Also can load custom LUT's.

I find it a little better than GH4, but not a ton. If I've got a shallow DOF, and I try to trust the peaking, I miss focus on about the same percentage of shots with the GH5. Using a preview LUT and punching in before recording is the most reliable focus technique that I've found.

Although the LCD screen on the GH5 is excellent, I find the peaking too deep to judge critical focus...the peaking comparison on the Shogun is day and night...just a very thin red line (color is selectable) and it's spot on...I calibrated the diopter carefully on the viewfinder and I find that plus punching in the best method for my eyesight...and set my punch in to full view as I find the partial magnification not as effective.
