How to turn off Zoom h5 microphone while xlr is plugged in?

Is it possible to turn off Zoom H5 microphone while the recorder is connected to sound board trough XLR cable? I guess simple way to do it would be to remove the microphone capsule all together but I would like to know is it possible to do it without physically taking it off. Also can I record each channel on separate track instead of combining them all in to one?

I'm new to sound recording so I apologize if I'm asking " stupid questions " I searched online for the answer but I didn't find any answers.

The power switch is on the left side, so it shouldn't be covered by the XLR cable at all. To record separate tracks from the built-in mic and the XLR inputs, select Multi File recording mode. See page 19 of the user manual.

Press the L/R buttons on the front to disable the top mics.

Also, asking "stupid questions" is fine, but just make sure you check the manual first before asking. Oddly enough it's more likely to have the answers you're looking for compared to searching online ;)
