F3: How to tell if I have S-LOG

Hey guys. I have an F3 here I'm trying to determine if it has S-Log on it and if so whether it's the paid or standard version. It's running older (v 1.31) firmware. In my video settings menu I have the option for dual-link and Gamma select and under that I see S-Log options for both 4:2:2 and 4:4:4. The LUT settings are there but all grayed out and in the picture profile menu there's no S-Log option under the Gamma settings when I'm modifying a profile but I believe that change came with the version 1.4 firmware so I'm not sure if it's supposed to be there in the first place.

Is there a definitive way to tell if the camera has S-Log and if so, whether it's 4:2:2 or 4:4:4? Is the presence of the RGB444 options in the "Dual Link & Gamma Select" menu enough?

If you can choose the RGB444 option in the "Dual Link & Gamma Select" menu, then yes you have the paid upgrade.

Alright, some conflicting info… Which one of you is right? Do you guys have an epic battle now or something? :)

If I could get a definitive on this it would be much appreciated it. Given that it's running firmware prior to the free S-LOG firmware update being offered (1.4 I believe) and it makes mention of S-LOG I'm assuming it has the paid upgrade. If it didn't there would be no mention of S-LOG right? Would those menus just be grayed out or would they just not exist?

It actually isn't conflicting info. One is telling you how to access the 444 RGB upgrade if you have it and the other is telling you how to access the SLOG upgrade through the free firmware upgrade. The free SLOG upgrade through freely available firmware has the ability to do a white balance on the scene you are presently dealing with whereas the paid 444 RGB upgrade does not, you are dealing with white balance presets. Advantages to both depending on your production.

We'll it actually is conflicting info. One of them read my post, saw the menu options I mentioned I had and came to the conclusion that I have the paid upgrade. The other read the same post and came to the conclusion that I don't have the paid upgrade and went on to tell me how to get the free update which I assume still is 4:4:2. So it is conflicting info.

I'm basically just trying to determine how to find out if it has the 4:4:4 output. Firmware is pre-free S-log which is why I don't think I'm running the free update that added S-LOG. So I think the free S-LOG update is off the table for this particular camera.

let me try it this way. You bought the camera, you were told it had the paid 4:4:4 S-LOG upgrade. How do you confirm this I'm in the menu? Maybe that's the only question I should have asked. :)

Sorry if your confused, if you have the RGB444 & S-LOG option in the others menu, you would be able to choose it, but you say it's greyed out.

Go to the Video set menu
Choose Dual link and Gamma select
If you can choose 3G RGB444 & S-Log, then you have the paid S-Log.

It's only confusing because it's entirely possible to have both. The free firmware upgrade gives you 4.2.2 and the paid gives you 4.4.4. They are both S-Log but they have different options.
