GH1 How to take Stop Motion or 1 frame every 3 seconds?

Just wondering how I would go about doing this on the GH1. Is there a function to take a picture every 3 seconds?

No built-in; you need an external timer. Search for timer as this has been discussed many times before... Al
 
Looking at one now:
Self-timer
1 sec. to 99hours, 59minutes,59sec.
Interval timer
Long exposure timer
Exposure count
1 to 99

Does exposure count mean it will only take 99 pics before needing to be reset?

Hi thanks but because of the lack of storage on the camera and the complexities in reducing the frame rate (we want to be able to choose certain frames to leave out) I would much prefer to do it all on the camera. Do you know what it means by exposure count? Will it stop after 99 frames max? It does not seem like many..

I do not know what your particular timer means when it says "99 max." On mine, however, "99 max" means 99 is the most it will count to - it will go beyond that if you want but it won't count those. In other words, 99 is the maximum you can program into it and if you want more you just have to set it to infinite and stop it manually when you're done. However, that may not be the case with your timer.

I have a TM timer. "TM" is all I remember about it and there's no clear brand marking on it... But I highly recommend it. It works very well.

Hi thanks for the reply, very helpful. I need to get one pretty soon but that one is only £20 on ebay how much was yours?

The seller just replied saying that it will not do time lapse but how can this be possible are they wrong?

I don't know what that seller is smoking. Maybe he just doesn't know what timelapse is? I think that's basically the same one I have (which was around the same price, maybe a little more but not much) and yes that device will do timelapse photography.

But someone else will have to confirm that the timer for the GH1 will also work with the GH2 - I'm not sure that it does.
 
thanks for the replies I ended up getting a more expensive one for about £40, the Pixel TC-252. Have just spent 3 days taking 15000 pictures!!! Still got one more day before its finished will put a link here when its done. Will be fun rendering them all together into video (not). Will look good when its done tho I hope.. Thanks for help.
