how to submit files

is there something like a common professional best practice to submit movie files straight out of a camera like the fs700 to those people who take care of post-production?

Do I hand over the whole trees structure or just the 'stream' folder?

is it ok to rename the individual files?

should I edit the IPTC (or how ever this is called in the movie world) data or leave the files untouched?

thanks for your help

I'm sure there are people more qualified to answer this than me, but I believe the most common practice is to supply the post production people with the actual physical flash drives (SDHC, FMU, etc.). You should definitely not edit any files, as you stand the chance of messing up the entire file structure.

I think if you just create a folder and copy everything on the card into it you're fine, but don't alter anything.
I mean that's kind of what I do. Just create a separate folder for each card's worth of material and then I transcode to Pro Res from there.
It would be nice to have a utility that verifies like the P2CMS app.

I mean do people really just give their cards to the editor? I really wouldn't have the luxury of doing that when shooting to P2...
