I’d like to split my 8-hour-long video from TM900 so that I can edit these smaller files with FCP X attentively. I’m a little worried when split, quality of the video will be horrible. Is there any way to keep the high quality when split, such as perfect software or operating process.

Hi there,

I am wondering whether your generated video files are 1080p or 1080i.
As far as I known, FCP X can support 1080i MTS clips importing and editing as long as you have the whole video file sturcture.
But if they are in 1080p, please find a way to transcode them to FCP X preferred video formats because FCP X can not support 1080p MTS clip importing and editing.

Hope helpful.

Choosing a nice video-convert-software to split your video and then to edit is a pretty good method. I now use final mate, which can deal with such videos soomthly. What better is it can also keep the hige quality .
