How to shoot for time remapping on DSLRS?

Hey guys,

Does anyone have any experience on shooting for time remapping, ala 300 style?

I'll be shooting on DSLRs, but advice on any format would be appreciated.

Is it customary to change frame rates during a shot - and is that possible on SLRs? Or do they shoot the scene with multiple cameras running at different frame rates and then composite it together?

THANKS

What they usually do is to shoot at a high-speed and then they ramp it in post to a quicker speed. On a DSLR you can only shoot 60 fps as the highest, so might need the plugin Twixtor too.

If you're using After Effects, shooting at 60 frames per second will be enough to accomplish the look you're going for. Do a quick google search for "After Effects time remap tutorial" and you'll find lots of tutorials on how to do this without any plugins.
