How to match Canon 5D Mark iii footage with T3i footage

I'm shooting a live event in a couple weeks and have a mix of Canon T3i's and 5D's. Any suggestions on what I can do in camera and in post to match the footage of the two cameras so they look similar?

Is the event indoors, outdoors, or both?

Regardless, I would download the Technicolor Cinestyle color profile and install it on all of your cameras if you haven't already, and make sure you shoot everything with the same settings under that color profile.

This is a video I shot last year with a 5D and a T3i, and even I have a hard time knowing which footage came from what camera:

I don't think it needs to be the Technicolor profile, per se. Just make sure it is the same picture profile with the same profile settings (example, if you're using Neutral profile with contrast set to 1 on the 5D, make sure it is the same on the T3i). Make sure your white balance matches, and you should be pretty close.

There will still be some differences. The 5D will probably be less sharp, regardless of sharpness setting, but it will have less aliasing, and it will be phenomenally cleaner at much higher ISO's than the T3i.

+1, I've tested every picture style against cinestyle since it was released and nothing beats cinestlye for DR.

I have not tested cinestyle, but on several occasions we had to shoot events and studio on both cameras and match them in post.
They can be matched but it is a bit of a pain. Even if you choose the exact same profiles the images are quite different. The mkIII has more contrast and a magenta cast.
Before shooting be sure to set custom white balance on both cameras with a grey card.
On studio (white screen), we found out that it was easier to match with less steps the mkIII with the Nikon D800 when shooting on similar color profiles, rather than with the t3i.
But it can definitely be done.
