How to maintain exposure in an event

Went to cover an event. Once again I found myself in flicker hell. All sorts of lights were flickering and pulsating. Last time when I shot in such situation, moving bands appeared on my footage. That was not the case this time. But it is really hard to to maintain exposure and white balance in such situations. Any advice on it?

Firstly do a CLEAN set up on your camera, then use the full dress rehearsal to do a test run, work closely with the light designer crew. Do a white balance on the brightest staging (mean maximum lights used) and then ride the Iris from then on. ISO around 200 or what looks better to your opinion. Works for me.
