How to give/transfer HVX200a files to clueless client?

Absolutely.

Does he want to watch it on DVD? Does he want to upload it to the Web? Does he intend to edit it at all, and if so will he need them in DV or can he edit in HD, and if so can he edit the .mxf files directly or will he need some other format?

Find out what they're needed for. Then you'll know how best to deliver them. Different uses will have different methods of delivery, and multiple uses may well require multiple methods of delivery.

Of course, but my question more implied - does settings like FPS, resolution, gamma, shutter speed, etc. change the way files should be digitally transfered. I.e. "if you shoot 1080i you shouldn't transfer thru HDD, but if it is 720p you should". Meaning, are there times when the HVX will create different kinds of files that needs different kinds of transfering?

I assume that HVX just makes files to the P2 card and it doesn't care what format it was in, the only difference will be the file size and meta data.

I was actually taking it one step back. What you give the interviewee will depend on what he's going to do with it. No sense of transferring to his hard drive if he just wants to show the clips to his family on a DVD player, especially if he has no way to make a DVD out of those raw clips.
