How to get clean 24p on GH2

Well, let me start by saying that I tried everything, from shooting native 24p on both, my GH13 and GH2, shooting 30p and 60p and adjusting the frame rate in post...nothing worked. Choppy, stuttering footage.
My last attempt, and it works great (sory if it has been mentioned before, I'm not patient enough to read all threads on this matter) is to shoot in VARIABLE MOVIE MODE and then choose FRAME RATE 80%. By defaulf the GH2 shoots 23.97 up to 24Mbps. Then in postprocessing I increase the speed 20% (I know it should be 25% from 80 to make it an even 100, but 20% works for me) and the result is smooth 24p. One caveat, no sound but I rarely use the mic in the camera.

Shoot 720p and slow it down to 40% or shoot native 1080p @ 23.97 FPS if you are working with a 23.97 final output video. I really don't see what shooting in the 80% slow motion mode will get you here? And you definitely should not speed it up if you want 23.97 fps. That mode shoots in 30p. Let's see some samples.

That's slow motion.

Isn't that the point, to avoid the always stuttering 24p on GH2?

Speed of the movie and frame rate are two different things. I'm talking real time footage at 24p.
I will upload a few samples tonight

How to get clean 24p video from a GH2.. ..uh, point it at something? Me thinks this is an April 1 bit... :)

i think the content and technique of shooting can make or break footage. I am a Canon HDSLR shooter for several years and am using a GH2 now for a second time and have been extremely pleased with it. From shooting kids for a non profit piece to interior architecture and interviews for a home tour video.

All shot in 24p Cinema film look and now Smooth film look from shutter speeds 1/30 to 1/50 at all ISOs. Couldn't be happier. Stick with it and try to find out how to adjust what you're doing to make things work for you.
