How to get a clean digital negative?

I’m trying to get a clean digital negative that I can play with in post.

Does anyone know which detail level to adjust to minimize (completely get rid of) the camera’s sharpening feature? There’s “Detail Level” which ranges from -7 to +7, “V Detail Level” which ranges from -7 to +7, and “Detail Coloring” which ranges from -2 to+7. Would I need to drop these levels to 0? Or to -7 (or -2 for color)? Should I lower all three of these detail features to minimize sharpening or just the “Detail Level” and “V Detail Level”? I’m trying to get rid of ringing (dark halos) around high contrast edges.

Also, does anyone know which of the “matrix” settings lets the camera collect the cleanest data in all 3 color channels? I'm trying to get a low saturation image that gives me the most flexibility in post. Is it “Norm”? (There’s norm, enriched, fluo, cine-like)

Thanks!

to completely turn off the sharpening, turn the first two to -7. your picture's gonna be wicked soft, but there's no artificial sharpening on. as for coring (not "coloring") i'd turn it all the way up. it minimizes and gets rid of noise caused by sharpening. though, because your sharpening's completely off, itll have a minimal, if not unnoticable, effect.
