Almost all of the ways you mentioned can work, but as mcbob pointed out - HBR mode (between Cinema and Manual) in firmware 1.1 will do the trick if your camera is setup for NTSC (so if you bought it in the U.S., that is a yes).
80% gives you better image quality but does not have any sound, and with some settings it may require a better memory card.
