It may happen that your F35 has, or at some point develops, one or more hot/stuck pixels. These pixels may appear white, or a bright colored pixel. What follows here is the method for masking them in camera. Additionally, this process can be used to see how many pixels the camera is already masking, either by some automatic determination, or previously programmed manually.
This is called the Manual RPN Procedure. To execute it you need to access the "SERVICE" menu.
To get access to the Service menu, you need to instruct the camera to unlock all VF menus. The standard method to unlock the Top Menu and Diagnosis menu is not enough here.
With the camera on, and fully booted, click the VF Menu button to close the menu and display. With them close, you will push and hold all three assignable buttons (exclude the toggle #4). This will execute whatever those toggles are programmed to do, but ignore that. With the assign buttons still held down, press and also hold down the rotary encoder. With all of these buttons pressed and held down, tap the VF Menu button twice. This should bring you to the Top Menu with the SERVICE menu listed at the very bottom.
One of the Service menu pages will be for the RPN adjustment. Other Service menu pages include the hours meter and firmware update. Another page allows for inverting and mirroring viewfinder images.
The Service menu remains available until the camera is powered off.
I've attached a pdf to this post that thoroughly explains the RPN procedure.
But in short, you can manually mask R G and B components of each location on the sensor. Some hot pixels may only be one color performing incorrectly.
Also, it is crucial that you be attached to a true 1080p pixel-to-pixel monitor when making these adjustments.
