How to fix or replace the Flexible Cable attach to the Focus Ring on the DVX100A?

Hey to any of you who has some technical knowledge of how I could fix a broken Flexible Cable that attaches to the Focus Ring of the DVX100A.
I was cleaning the lenses and disconnect the Flexible Cable from the Focus Ring, after I was finish to clean the lenses, I try to connect the Flexible Cable back to the Focus Ring, but in the process a small part of the Flexible Cable broken, making the cable slightly shorter, is there a way that I can fix this without spending a fortune?
Can I replace the cable myself?
Can it be molten or clue with an additional part that will extent the Flexible Cable?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Huh...Ive never seen a flexible cable on my cam. How do you clean your lens... by taking it out?
