How to film in 60i and widescreen options

I have two questions. They are unrelated. I feel stupid for asking this because I have done a lot of work with the camera. But In my scene file settings....you have your 30p 24p 24pA etc... but then you just have off. And when you are just off, you are in 30i right? or more particularly 29.97i. Correct? Well how do you get to 60i?? I have no idea how to do this, and I am ashamed for asking but I really don't get how to switch to it. My second question is......I know the anamorphic adaptor is for sure the best option for widescreen (that and getting a camera that has a 16:9 chip) but if you don't use the adaptor, which is less of a loss. I know if you letterbox it, you are not using the full chip, you are losing a quarter or some other amount worth of chip usage. Well in squeeze mode, you are using the whole chip right? So is squeeze the best option without using the adaptor, or is letterbox the way to go?

Thanks,

TJ

There is no such thing as 30i. Off is 60i.

Squeeze doesn't exactly use the entire chip area either. I may be incorrect, but I think that letterbox and squeeze both end up giving the same vertical resolution; letterbox puts black bars over it, while squeeze distorts it to fit back into a 4:3 aspect ratio. There is a more detailed thread about this, where Barry goes all technical, over here:
