How to do paper cut out opening effect in AE?

[whizzkid]

Hi everyone,

I'm doing an independent music video that budget is so low it's going to be a one man show and i'm trying to do a magazine cut out type look to the MV, how do you animate it to fold open - imagine a magazine clipping folded and opening up animating? I tried doing this frame by frame in photoshop and animating that in AE but it's kind of meticulous work is there anyone that can throw me a bone here?

I'm not fully understanding. Any examples you've seen that are even close so I can play this in my head?

Animated paper cut outs are going to be created frame by frame if you want it to look good.

Or with a 3D app.

I have a visual peg for you guys.

Check the reel of this company Belief.com. It's like the cut outs of trees and foods coming out of the envelope. It animates opening with origami birds flying in the BG... The part what I'm talking about should be after the football visa ad...
