How to do bad tv transition?

Is there a preset for Bad TV transition?
When I try to use bad tv fx in fcp it takes forever.

How do people create this????

Any thoughts or suggestions on how to achieve this will be appreciated. Thanks.

Or you can easily do this in Motion, using the "Bad TV" filter.

Right, but he mentioned in the first post that he's having trouble with that filter in FCP. Sometimes Motion handles certain things a little better.

Of course, without knowing the system (Mac, OS, RAM, processor, FCP version, etc.), it's hard to rule out any hardware issues. Also check that your boot drive isn't terribly full. My laptop slowed down in FCP, and Compressor started to get really moody, and then I checked my HD (yes, all media was on a separate drive)... ended up clearing 40GB of stuff (mostly iTunes library) off to a backup drive. Everything runs swimmingly now.
