How to create a 16:9 frame from a 4:3 letterboxed PAL frame in photoZoomPro?

Hi all,
I would like to know how to do the 4:3 letterboxed to 16:9 uprezz in Photoshop Pro, in PAL.
I do not know the correct 16:9 frame size to stretch the letterboxed 4:3 frame.

This is what I have done.
In FCP, I exported the movie as image sequence (after de-interlacing and de-artefacting and letterboxing to the AR of 1:1.78 the original 50i movie), imported in PhotoZoom Pro, and stretched the image so that the letterbox disappears (frame size 720x 803 pixels)
did the up-rez
imported to FCP in new widescreen seq, selected Motion, selected the Scale (basic Motion) and Aspect ratio (Distort) values to O (zero).
Is this it?

I've read disjecta's thread on this as well as Barry's book, and found no info about this for the PAL system.
Thanks
Pedro.

Ps- any Pal users can tell me how to import 25p images in FCP 4.5? what setting do I use for capturing and editing?

well i guees if you wanna convert you have to crop the 4:3 to 16:9 then stretch it vertical to 720*576, then you would have a correct anamorfic 16:9 image.

There was a sticky in this section that outlined all of the steps perfectly. That disappeared with the new board, but hopefully will return. In the meantime you might want to try search...

Well I tested it and found the pixel dimensions were right, ie, when you already have a 16x9 mask on the 4x3 frame, you stretch the pic until the mask bars disappear (wich is 720*803), then in fcp, you just have to reset the scale and distort parameters (FCP automatically tries to fit the frame within the 16x9 frame).
it works well, one can only use it in de-interlaced pics.
it takes ages to render (3900 frames in 12 hours!- i have a dual 2ghz g5)
