how to clean outside of dirt sandbag?

On recent rental return - they returned sandbags in crappy condition - they were shooting at the beach and sand bags got wet and with stains - what's the best way to clean those?

I think you might do better on a cleaning forum, but what I'd do is make sure they're dry, brush off excess sand and salt, then use spray can carpet and upholstery foam.

I suppose it depends on the stains, but I find a strong concentration of Oxyclean does some pretty remarkable stain removal. I had some cushions that got blood on them for a few weeks. A really set stain. I made a solution in the tub. I soaked the cushions for 1/2 hour. No scrubbing was required. I just rinsed them off and they were perfectly clean.

If they're zipper-type bags, dump & out and throw 'em in the wash?

But I'd imagine scrubbing with some sort of cleaner should at least tone it down some.

I am missing something here... Dirty sandbags? Take them outside, hose them off, let them dry in the sun and be done with it. There aren't many moving parts in a sandbag so they should work fine.

+1

Not that it adds alot onto the invoice but in LA they charge an extra day's rental for sandbags that are returned wet.
