How to calibrate on-camera LCD monitor with RGB values?

I have just received a HD3 monitor from COOLLCD. Really liking it so far but the colour is way off what the camera's LCD shows. It has 3 built in colour kelvin settings but all are very blue! The user setting is adjusted with RGB values.

What is the best way of calibrating it other than making adjustments, pulling the HDMI lead out, making a few more tweaks etc. There must be a proper way to do this?

Thanks!

The "proper" way will work on a "proper" monitor:

Connect it to a camera with HDMI out that generates color bars; adjust the brightness & contrast so the pluge bars are showing appropriately. Switch the monitor to blue-only and adjust the color levels. There's a wealth of info online regarding monitor setup. Optimally you would do this before every shoot, but I find my Marshall remains constant for weeks of DSLR shooting. (I often bring a "real" camera to DSLR shoots just to check the monitor settings).

Since your monitor has "built in color settings", my guess is it may be a panel designed for in-car DVD players vs. designed for video - if it can't run blue-only you can't do as much as you'd like. Your camera's LCD may not be very accurate anyway (my Canon and Nikon SLRS are very close to a calibrated monitor though - my HMC-150 is horrible).

If this is a real problem for you, just run the monitor as B&W (with the color all the way down) or return it and find something with blue-only - you'll still need a way to view color bars on it though.
