how to burn 16:9 on idvd.

I manage to shoot 4:3 footage, than i convert to 16:9 using different codec
than native. than when i burn in idvd, it turn out there are still 2 black bar on both side.
and not 16:9. is there a reason for this .
 
What version of imovie are you using? Depending on the version, there should be a option for "widescreen" in the preferences.

If you can't find it, go to the "help" window, and type in "widescreen".
