A self-built camera crane for around 15$ - that is every independent filmmaker's dream. Tobias Deml and Hiroki Kamada, two film students at Santa Monica explain how to make this dream come true, based on their fake commercial project in the Mojave Desert where complicated shots of a Pontiac Firebird 1992 demanded the creation of a reliable crane.

Oh, how this pains me, that's $2000 worth of camera up there! Still the design is quite innovative and appears to have worked quite well.

Nothing like extreme ironing to sell a Pontiac.
