How to avoid the stair steping on d90

Even if that works out, I can't see how its especially useful... the D90's big kicker is that you get super35 type DOF, but stopped down to f11 you suddenly have most everything in focus like with a 1/3" sensor...

I think any solution to the jaggies will be in the form of a specially configured anti-aliasing filter.

I wonder if we could put together a bounty to write a filter for this. Its a very unique issue because it always (seems to me offhand) seems to occur at the same places. That ought to make it easier to correct without compromising the sharpness any more than it already has been.

Does anyone here program filters for AE or anything? I'm wondering how doable this is. These jaggies are the #1 issue I'm having with my D90 footage.

I think it comes down to "how important is that shot" and how much time are you prepared to spend on it...I have recently used this camera to film cutaways for a vid documenting a school trip to ww1 battlefields for my local museum...I got some stunning shots with it but some shots suffer from quilting in the out of focus parts and jaggies on others. I stuffed the offending shots into ae then duplicated layers then masked out non offending parts and applied blurs/median..or whatever did the job with the uneffected layer beneath.
This camera is very cheap(for what it does) so I think its all about compromises...but well worth it.
