Hello DVXusers,

I'm a film student trying to pull off a different look using the DVX100a with a panasonic anamorphic lens adapter. I would like to shoot in 2.35:1 and I am not sure how to the anamorphic lens works. I am not getting anything from google that makes sense to me. Do i have to matte to obtain the aspect ratio? I am shooting in 24p and want to make sure I do this right. Thanks for any advice and comments.

thanks!

Yes you'd have to matte. It's simple to do on the DVX -- just shoot in letterbox mode while using the anamorphic adapter -- the result will be a 2.35:1 within a letterboxed 16:9 frame.

although most ppl would agree that its better to compose in 2.35 in the LCD and actually put the matte on in post. Gives you more options and fix little goofs
