How to a record stuff off my TV?

I would like to record footage from my TV. If there is already an answer to this question you can just point me to it. Thanks.


-I have tried hooking up the AV cables. Setting the camera to VCR mode and then pushing down the two VCR REC buttons and that didnt work. Do I need to have an S Video cable?
 
not sure what your final product will be but
shot two minutes of a movie last night just for the heck of it
did nothing special ,, just pressed power,,record,,stop

I was impressed, if I had taken time to learn about setting up properly I might have done better but not too much better
it just looked great,, I was so impressed with my new cam

Your TV is a display, it probably doesn't have outputs. You need to hook the output of your VCR, DVD, cable box, whatever is feeding your TV, and record that.
 
Go to your tv out put . hook up the yellow (video) and red or white(audio) into your camera. and press record in VCR mode.
