How reliable Red cameras are nowadays?

I've heard a lot of horror stories with Red cameras on set. Anything from freezing to firmware glitches.
How about them nowadays? How is the weapon body like? Did they matured or still the same?
Would like to know unbiased opinions.

Solid. Literally never had an issue and I shoot with them all the time and all types of productions. There are lots of people who don't really know the complete ends and out of the system it's these people that have the most problems

No that's not at all what I mean. The camera is very deep, and you need a deep understanding of it to really use its full potential and to address any issues.

Oh I see :) Thanks for info!
I'm trying to find out if it makes a good business sense in getting Red and rent it out around my location (Berlin especially).

Shot a documentary at Burning Man, 2013 with 7 Red Epics. Only thing that never went down were the cameras.
Every single bit a gear we had went down in the field except these cameras. Not one dropped frame.

i am gonna jump in here with a very recent experience that sort of confirms txdp's position. I just finished editing a spot that was shot in NY by a guy with a Red Dragon shooting in Red raw. It was a nighrmare, the footage required major work by a colorist and was a pain in the ass to edit with other footage from drones etc. I am sure this was all due to operator error because 75% of the shots were out of focus or at best soft. So not to raise the rage of the Red fan group here, but if you are gonna buy one learn how to use it. It seems there are as many people out there with Reds in their kit who can't use them as there are Ferrari's with idiots driving them.
IMHO
