How reliable is the DVX100?

Hello, Ive been looking into buying a new camcorder and I am pretty much sold on the dvx100. I am wondering how reliable they are and how long they last. How long is it until it requires repairs? How much do they cost? Should I get an extended warranty (I want this camera to last at least 3 years). Whats the oldest dvx youve heard of??

We have two DVX100AE at work, one is from 2004 and one from early 2005. They are used on a daily basis, mostly by our video journalists, often more than 5 hours a day. I'd say they are handled pretty rough (not at all like you would handle your own, precious camcorder!) and there haven't been any problems so far. As far as I know no repairs, not even professional head-cleaning has been necessary. As I said, useage is between 2 and 6 hours a day, 5, 6 and sometimes 7 days a week.
