How many HVX users in SF?

Hey sorry I'm slammed with work and haven't been online in a couple days.

BAVC is definitely available to host the meetings. This thursday (tomorrow?) will not work as I'm already scheduled to do production work in the east bay.

We can try for next thursday (though the screening room is already booked. We could use one of the classrooms (it has 10 computers in it with a projector to project if we need. If we want the screening room, its available the wednesday before (The 24th).

Wednesday or Thursday of next week at BAVC?

BAVC would be a great place to host them - we do have Avid systems running here, as well as 5 classrooms full of PC and Mac top of the line computers - we have Avid Adrenaline, Avid Xpress, FCP Studio, Premiere, etc. Not to mention our screening room.

And yes, we do have an online suite that has smoke installed.

I'll check back here tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon to see if there is interested next wednesday or thursday.

Santa Rosa checking in.
Was about to buy a 100B, instead will be getting a 200 in next week or so.
Will be needing lots of advice and would welcome a user group site, get together, whatever. I belong to PVNB, Prof Videographers of North Bay (pvnb.org) however, very little activity with this camera in the group.
Personally, I would love to attend a users seminar if something like that ever takes place. My caveat, though, is that, for my needs, anyway, it be a basic course for beginners.
Anyone know if a few of us commit to buy together we can get a break at all....?
Thanks,
Stuart

I think the outstanding offers of places to meet are from Estebverde and Sam, either at the Presidio or Perk Presidio. I doubt we'd want to lug gear to a Cafe, but we could do an initial meet and greet to establish what folks are looking to get out of a user group. I'm guessing the toys at BAVC will be entice folks to get back together quickly.

Here's a link to Perk Presidio: http://www.presidiotrust.gov/community/tenants/detail.asp?TenantID=464

There's a map on there.

5:30pm tomorrow? Who's still in?

Hey Donatello, nice to hear from you.
Brave of you to use your real name.
Actually i wanted to switch to my real name , but I can't figure out how to do it.

Have you been renting these things?
Who do you get them from?
What have you been up to?

I dig the idea of meeting anywhere in the Presidio. Parking would not be an issue there. If we do not come up with a solution by this afternoon, I will have one. Keep checking in.

Here's an interesting thought. I'm shooting a low budget (very low budget) indie movie on the HVX with the M2 adapter this summer. We have a 1 or 2 day shoot at a club, where multiple cameras would really rock. i wonder what it might take to gather up some guys here with HVX's to do an awesome shoot with multiple cameras? It would probably drastically reduce actual shooting time.

Just a thought. It's one scene that would really benefit from multiple cameras. If any of you might be interested let me know and I'll tell you more about the project. This shoot will be in Oakland right near Jack London Square.

We can meet in my offices or conference room.

I just need to know how many people and what time.

Okay, I got wrapped into something. If more people reply I will drop what I am doing and zip over to the Presidio. I'm only about 15 min. away.

Otherwise, it will have to be next week for me.

It may be a little late in the game to make this work today. We should just make plans for next week. Wed at BAVC was offered by Dillon last I checked. We should either make that firm, or see if Estebeverde wants to host in a conference room. I'll PM Dillon and find out what's up.

Wednesday works for me!

I don't have screening equipment set up so if we want to view footage we need to bring a projector or hit BVAC.

Don't know how I missed seeing this thread...
